Bullying is just not cool!

Bullying is a serious matter. It should never be brushed off as something that children have to “tough out”. Bullying can affect a child’s sense of self-worth and future relationships. In severe cases, bullying has contributed to tragedies, such as school shootings and attempted suicides.

To kick off this year’s 19 Days of Activism for Prevention of Violence Against Children and Youth, here’s the inside take on bullying:

1. Bullying is mean, repeated, hostile behaviour 

2. Bullying happens at home, school, the playground

3. Bullying take’s different forms – all are hurtful

4. Bullying stems from a history of violence.

Children who experience or witness bullying should tell a trusted adult. She or he can be a teacher, principal, parent, or a relative.Remember, bullying is NOT OK.
